Last year, Ted Danson charmed viewers playing a retiree who goes undercover in a San Francisco retirement home to find a missing ruby necklace. The move gave the ex-professor a new lease on life and showed millions of viewers that retirement isn’t always the end of living an interesting life.
Though production of a second season is well underway for a (hopefully) 2025 release, if you’re like us, you’re dying for more retirement hijinks.
Here are seven books to read if you loved Man on the Inside and are dying for season two.

It might seem like a group of octogenarians won’t stand a chance against a killer. But they still have a few tricks up their retired sleeves.

But for that to work, the geriatric group has to navigate the authorities and a village full of secrets to find out who exactly murdered their neighbor before their own crime is discovered.
