    Our Editorial Policy

Every topic we cover is selected by our editors, regardless of media affiliation. If our parent company or one of our partners in crime has a story they know you’d love to read, you’ll see it marked as sponsored—no funny business.

    Our Team

    Jennifer Jackson, Editorial Director

A lover of all things digital, Jennifer has been editing and writing for websites and reading ebooks for the better part of a decade. She checks Goodreads every morning for new book recommendations, and she’s recently discovered a love of British murder mystery TV series which she plans to investigate further.

    Matthew Thompson, Executive Editor

Matthew graduated from New York University with an MFA in Fiction. His stories, book reviews, and interviews appear in a variety of literary journals. As an avid traveler, Matthew has lived in Berlin, Seattle, and a handful of hamlets in the south of France. He can usually be found rummaging around old bookshops, uncovering strange titles.

    Sarah Mangiola, Managing Editor, Books

Originally from California, Sarah has been writing and editing professionally since moving to New York after college. You can often find her obsessing over anything old and classic—especially when the cover requires some dusting off. Her favorite books include the entire Harry Potter series, Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, and A Separate Peace by John Knowles.

    Catherine Phelan, Editor

Catherine has been writing and editing for the web since moving to New York City. Her first memory is of realizing that C A T meant cat—and she hasn’t stopped reading since. Recently, Catherine has been making her way through the classic mystery novels of Agatha Christie.

    Olivia Mason, Content Marketing Associate

After graduating from the Columbia Publishing Course in 2016, Olivia found her happy place—a job that allowed her to talk about books all day long. When she isn’t writing or editing for websites, she is defending Cersei Lannister’s right to the Iron Throne, gabbing on (and on) about Outlander, or trying to solve the JonBenet Ramsey case.
