The Snowman is the first of Jo Nesbø’s books to get the big screen treatment, and the upcoming movie's first trailer dropped today. News about casting already had us thrilled about this adaptation; Michael Fassbender plays the brooding Detective Harry Hole. After watching the trailer, our excitement doubled. The thrills, chills, and side of gore are all here.
The Snowman is the seventh book in the Harry Hole series written by Nesbø, his longest and most popular series. The upcoming adaptation really ramps up the creepiness of this serial killer thriller.
Someone has begun killing women, seemingly when their actions garner his disapproval. Most disturbingly, all of them have had their heads removed from their body and hidden elsewhere.
The serial killer calls himself “the snowman killer” and is obsessed with Harry Hole, leaving messages for him. Hole must team up with a new police officer, played by Mission: Impossible’s Rebecca Ferguson, to apprehend the killer before he kills more women.
Everything about this trailer, from the music to the beheading of bodies, suggests that this adaptation will be just as terrifying as Nesbø’s original novel. Whether you’re a Nesbø maniac, or this film will be your first introduction, The Snowman promises to thrill. Check out the trailer below.
The Snowman will hit theaters on October 20th, 2017.
