All the while, he finds himself falling for a woman named Eve Kendall (Eva Marie Saint). But where do these dazzling woman's loyalties lie?

A young Amish boy witnesses the brutal murder of an undercover cop, but identifying the culprit stirs up a world of trouble. Detective Captain John Book (Harrison Ford) takes the boy and his mother, Rachel (Kelly McGillis) back to their Amish community to hide out. As Book and Rachel fight their feelings for each other, the case only gets more complicated.
