The days of smiling and letting people walk all over you are done. They are for Rhiannon Lewis, anyway, who's undergoing a one-woman revolution in the hit new black comedy crime drama Sweetpea.
Based on the book of the same name by CJ Skuse, the series follows Rhiannon (played by Ella Purnell) in the wake of her father's death. After a life of traumatizing bullying, Rhiannon has finally had enough.
Balancing her job as an administrative assistant for a local newspaper with her newfound desire to push back, Rhiannon becomes an anger-fueled killer.
But just how easy is it for a wallflower to get away with murder?
The six-episode first season—available to watch through Starz—goes by in a quick blur of vibrant characters and sharp plots. But fear not, a second season of the gripping series is already on the way.
Looking for something to do in the meantime? Here are eight shows like Sweetpea you can stream tonight.
Obituary
If you like a twisted female lead and the newspaper angle, then Obituary on Hulu is a great follow-up to Sweet Pea.

Taking matters into her own hands, Elvira turns to murder to make work more interesting.
Sweet/Vicious
Sweet/Vicious takes the concept of homegrown justice and gives it a dose of dark social relevance.
Jules Thomas (Eliza Bennett) and Ophelia Mayer (Taylor Dearden) are unlikely friends at Darlington University. But they bond over their secret double lives as vigilantes making sexual abusers on campus pay for their crimes.
Swarm

Dexter
Great news for fans of this series, Dexter seems to be inescapable what with the emergence of several spin-off series, such as Dexter: New Blood, Dexter: Original Sin, the soon-to-come Dexter: Resurrection, and the currently in-development Trinity Killer.
In the original 2006 series, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is your typical meek blood-spatter analyst. But by night he's a brutal serial killer ridding the city of criminals who have yet to see justice.
The Horror of Dolores Roach
After serving 16 years of an unjust prison sentence, Dolores Roach (Justina Machado) returns to her Washington Heights neighborhood, only to find it gentrified.

But when the stability of her second chance is threatened, Dolores goes to extreme measures to stay afloat.
You
Going out of its way to remove the “hero” from the “anti-hero” equation, You follows the sinisterly charming Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley).
Joe is a man prone to intense obsession—particularly over beautiful young women. Going to extreme lengths to insert himself into the lives of his fascinations, he becomes a serial killer to ease the path of his desires.
Dead to Me
In Dead to Me, the murders are a bit more bumbling and accidental than in Sweetpea. And all the more endearing for it!
Free spirit Judy Hale (Linda Cardellini) forges a strong friendship with angry and tightly wound window Jen Harding (Christina Applegate), finding common ground over grief.
But beneath the surface of their friendship lies dark secrets that could change the course of their lives forever.

Fighting his loneliness and guilt, Barry tries to pursue a career in acting. Unfortunately, his violent old life is never too far behind him.
