Scorpio season runs from October 23rd to November 21st, and it's a time where any non-Scorpios are going to want to stay on their toes.
This water sign has many wonderful qualities, not the least of which is their sharp intelligence and unflinching nerve. If they set their mind to something, they are going to accomplish it, no matter the obstacle—and no matter in their way they have to step on.
While this passion and grit can be admirable, it can quickly turn dark when mixed with their distrust and penchant for scheming. Also known as the sign of the Scorpion, one should always remember that stinging is in their nature.
There are no secrets a Scorpio can't uncover, and that makes them formidable detectives—and killers.
So why not indulge those urges with a nice movie night?
From relentless revenge to self-serving slaying, here are the best mystery and thriller movies to watch if you're a Scorpio!
Gone Girl
This film is based off the book of the same name by Gillian Flynn.
Following a rough spot in their marriage, Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) goes missing under some very suspicious circumstances, and all signs point to her husband, Nick's (Ben Affleck) involvement.
However, things are far more twisted than they seem.
This David Fincher thriller is the ultimate Scorpio flick, teasing at their worst traits: manipulation and violence.
And of course its Scorpio's distaste for superficiality that got Nick and Amy into this tangled web in the first place.
Double Jeopardy
Libby Parsons' life turns upside down when, on what is supposed to be a romantic weekend, she is arrested for her husband, Nick's (Bruce Greenwood), murder. While Nick's body is never found, Libby is convicted and sent to prison.
As Libby serves her sentence, she discovers her husband is alive and well—and framed her for his murder so he could start a brand new life with their son and a new woman.
Upon her release, Libby sets out to do exactly what she was convicted for. After all, you can't get arrested for the same crime twice.
Scorpios tend to get a pretty bad rap, but this gripping film highlights all of their very best qualities. Like Libby, the sign of the Scorpion is incredibly resourceful and endlessly brave.
John Wick
Retired hitman John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is trying to cope with the loss of his wife by bonding with a sweet new Beagle puppy, Daisy. Unfortunately, his grieving process is interrupted by a group of gangsters who break into his home, kill his dog, and steal his car.
The loss of his new companion sends Wick into a rage—and out of retirement. Now he is on a ruthless path of revenge.
As we said before Scorpio's are the sign most prone to violence. You don't tangle with a Scorpion and expect not to get stung.
This sign never lets anything go, so you can bet you'll be sleeping with one eye open as they devote all of their considerable talents to enacting vengeance.
Heavenly Creatures
Heavenly Creatures is a biographical film based on the real-life Parker-Hulme murder case.
The movie follows the friendship between two teenage girls, Pauline Parker (Melanie Lynskey) and Juliet Hulme (Kate Winslet). Over the course of two years, the girls' friendship becomes intense and codependent, ultimately culminating in the premeditated murder of Parker's mother.
It's worth noting that in life, Juliet Hulme went on to change her name to Anne Perry, becoming a notable writer of historical detective fiction.
This movie is a prime example of what can happen when a Scorpio's passion and creativity get out of control.
To this sign's credit, they are one of the best friends you could ask for. To their discredit, sometimes that leads to murder.
The Thursday Murder Club
If you're in the mood for something lighter, this mystery comedy is a great watch.
Based on the book of the same name by Richard Osman, this film follows a group of elderly amateur sleuths in a retirement village. This group of friends meets weekly to try and solve cold cases for fun.
But their low-stakes puzzle solving turns into a very real investigation when someone dies in the village.
There's nothing a Scorpio likes more than the truth, so these sleuths' determination for answers will resonate with this sign.
As a water sign, Scorpios have good intuition—but they also have a good sense of strategy, which will be delighted by this whodunnit.
