Who doesn't love an action movie? High speed chases, explosions, intense fight scenes—its an addicting rush of adrenaline.

But sometimes you need something on the next level. So when heroes just aren't cutting it for you, it's time to turn to the dastardly and morally ambiguous: assassins.

If there's one person you don't want to cross, it's a contract killer. But if this list is anything to go by, it seems people can't help themselves.

From reformed killers out for revenge to sci-fi shooters, here are eight of the best assassin movies that you can stream tonight!

John Wick

Retired assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is in the midst of grieving his recently deceased wife. One day he arrives home to find he's been robbed, and his dog—a gift from his wife—has been killed.

In a fit of grief-driven rage, Wick comes out of retirement to exact revenge.

For those who can't get enough of Wick, there are currently four installments to the franchise, with a fifth in development.

Pulp Fiction

Though this film encompasses much more than just the story of the two featured hitmen, they're iconic enough that leaving out the film would be an oversight.

Four intertwining tales of violence and redemption unfold in Pulp Fiction, including those that follow a boxer, a gangster and his wife, a pair of diner bandits, and two mob hitmen.

Wanted

Office worker Wesley Allan Gibson (James McAvoy) is bored and walked all over in his life. But everything changes when a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie) tells him that his recently murdered father was a professional assassin.

Wesley is in possession of those same superhuman killing abilities his father had, and joins the fraternity of assassins his father was a part of, taking on life with a new confidence.

Looper

In this sci-fi thriller, it's the year 2074. In this day and age, the best way for the mob to get rid of someone is to send their mark into the past, where a hired gun awaits them.

Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is one such hired gun. However, he also seems to be a target.

An older version of himself (Bruce Willis) is sent back in time to be killed by his younger version. This will “close the loop” and tie up loose ends.

But is either version of Joe willing to let this happen?

Kill Bill (Vol. 1 & 2)

Another Tarantino classic, this story is broken up into two incredible volumes.

A former assassin known only as The Bride (Uma Thurman) wakes up from a four-year coma. She was put in the hospital by her fellow assassins and their boss, who tried to kill her and her unborn child on her wedding day.

Now The Bride is out for revenge, setting out to take down these deadly killers one by one.

Grosse Pointe Blank

In this action comedy with a dash of romance, Martin Blank (John Cusack) is a professional assassin who's been given a job in the small Detroit suburb of Grosse Pointe. It just so happens that this is the very place where his 10-year high school reunion is about to take place.

The past and the present collide when Martin runs into Debi (Minnie Driver), the girlfriend he abandoned on prom night.

The Manchurian Candidate (1962)

In this gripping psychological political thriller, Korean War veteran Raymond Shaw (Laurence Harvey) is brainwashed after his platoon is captured by communists. After the ordeal, he's sent back to the United States to resume normal civilian life.

Unfortunately, he has unwittingly become an assassin sent to kill a presidential nominee.

Collateral

In this neo-noir thriller, Los Angeles cab driver Max Durocher (Jamie Foxx) is in for a tense night when he picks up a passenger, Vincent (Tom Cruise), who turns out to be a hitman.

Max becomes an unwilling accomplice as Vincent forces him to transport him from hit to hit around the city.
