Along with Fall, Libra season has blown in with the wind. From September 23rd to October 22nd, this air sign is at their full power.

And what a power it is! Also known as the sign of the Scales, Libras have an insatiable drive for justice.

Libras don't leave the righteousness for just the courtroom, however. They also strive for a greater sense of balance and harmony, preferring to solve things as diplomatically and graciously as possible.

For as much as they love to do the right thing, they also despise getting into confrontations. A mystery or thriller is the perfect way for Libras to explore their morality without getting into a sticky situation of their own.

Here are seven of the best mystery and thriller books for Libras!

Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice

By Barbara Parker

Dan Galindo used to be a successful federal prosecutor in Miami. But everything changed when he let his conscience win over business.

After he refused to put a lying witness on the stand, a drug kingpin went free. In the aftermath of the decision, Dan lost both his job and his marriage.

Now he works out of a shabby office trying to piece together the tatters of his reputation. When his former brother-in-law hands him a case defending a beautiful rock singer accused of assaulting an officer, it seems like an easy job with a good payout.

But nothing is ever truly easy. With the case, Dan is pulled into the dark world of money laundering, dirty cops, and corrupt federal agents, finding himself a suspect in a murder and on the run for his life.

Honesty and fairness are just as important to a Libra as justice is. This legal thriller will have them gripped as it puts its main character in a dangerous whirlwind after he has to choose between two of Libra's most vital virtues.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd

Such a Quiet Place

By Megan Miranda

Hollow's Edge was once the ideal private neighborhood, full of residents who celebrated together, looked out for one another, and happily spent time with each other. But then Brandon and Fiona Truett were murdered.

A year and a half after their deaths, the people living in Hollow's Edge are desperate to get out—but they just can't seem to sell off their homes. The empty Truett house casts a shadow over the neighborhood, almost as stifling as the trial testimonies that implicated one of the residents, Ruby Fletcher.

Now, with her conviction overturned, Ruby has come back to Hollow's Edge. Back to the home she lived in with Harper Nash.

Five years older than Ruby, Harper always treated her like a little sister. But the thought of her coming back now has her terrified.

What could Ruby possibly gain by returning? And how could Harper ever say no when there's nowhere else for her to go?

It doesn't take long for suspicion to grip the neighborhood once more. It seems that some of the residents weren't honest about the events surrounding the Truetts' murders, and as Harper starts receiving ominous notes, it's up to her to dig up the truth before someone else dies.

Libras will be drawn to Harper, as like them, she is someone who shies away from confrontation. But her sense of justice trumps her people-pleasing when she learns there's danger afoot.

Heaven, My Home

Heaven, My Home

By Attica Locke

9-year-old Levi King knows he's stayed out too late when darkness falls around him as the motor of his boat goes out in the middle of Caddo Lake. And then things take an even darker turn when a noise catches his attention…

Texas Ranger Darren Mathews is no stranger to darkness: he's struggling to put his marriage back together while his career and good name rest in the hands of his mother, who's never been too good at taking care of anything. His mother could set him free or send everything tumbling, and she's not above using her power for a bit of blackmail.

Darren finally gets a small spot of luck when the disappearance of young Levi seems to link to his last case. Oddly enough, the boy's grandmother seems more concerned with her business than with the well-being of her own blood.

Fighting against old, deep-rooted suspicions and prejudices, Darren must hunt for the vanished child—but it's the boy's white supremacist family he's really after.

You won't find a more disharmonious place than this book's setting. But a Libra with a strong enough moral compass can bring balance to any simmering situation.

Be My Baby

Be My Baby

By Susan Andersen

Boston socialite Juliet Rose Aster Lowell has arrived in New Orleans for the grand opening of her father's new hotel, and she has no interest in being trailed by a bodyguard. She has even less of an interest in that bodyguard being tough guy cop Beau Dupree.

Beau is over-muscled, bossy, and disturbingly virile. He shamelessly drinks in the sight of Juliet, doing his best to ruffle her perfectly coiffed feathers—but nobody makes her lose her decorum.

For his part, Beau thinks he has far better things to do than babysit a wealthy Yankee. If he can drive the uptight good girl crazy enough with his rougher ways, then he figures it's only a matter of time before he's taken off the assignment.

He just never thought he'd find something so steamy beneath Juliet's carefully cultivated calm. And she may be more than even he can handle.

Just because Libras love justice, it doesn't mean they don't love fun and connection just as much. A romantic suspense read is perfect to appeal to their more playful side.

A romantic suspense that features complete opposites incapable of resisting their attraction? Talk about finding balance.

"Until the Night" by Giles Blunt

Until the Night

By Giles Blunt

It's fairly typical for a murder investigation to drag John Cardinal out of bed into the cold night of Algonquin Bay. And at first look, the dead body he is called in to see looks fairly typical, too.

Sprawled out in the parking of Motel 17, the corpse has a boot mark imprinted on his neck that likely belongs to the angry husband of his lover. But said lover has gone missing.

When Cardinal's partner, Lise Delorme, finds another missing woman—the wife of an Ottawa senator—frozen to death in an abandoned hotel, the case takes an ominous turn. The senator's wife was chained up, but left with a parka, winter boots, and a thermos.

It's almost as if her killer wanted to give her a sliver of hope of surviving…

When the investigation leads Cardinal and Delorme to a decades-old injustice involving the Artic, swingers, and an ex-rock star, things only get crazier.

Nothing piques a Libra's interest like an old mystery, and the bond between Cardinal and Delorme in this novel will speak to the social creature inside of them.
