Journey to the Pennsylvania Countryside in the Daisy’s Tea Garden Mysteries

Daisy Swanson enjoys her life running a tea garden with her aunt Iris out of a grand Victorian home in Pennsylvania’s Amish Country. When Iris starts dating Harvey Fitz, she can’t help but worry. He seems to be the constant subject of gossip, and things get even worse when his soon-to-be ex-wife throws a fit at a party catered by Daisy’s Tea Garden. Though she never could have expected that Harvey would turn up murdered in her own garden.

Now the shop is a crime scene and rumors are running rampant. When evidence starts pointing to Iris, Daisy knows she has to do something. She enlists the help of former Philadelphia detective Jonas Groft to prove Iris’ innocence and track down the real killer before it’s too late. 

With the annual weekend quilting event coming up, Daisy and her fellow shop owners are gearing up for an influx of tourists. But managing bigger crowds proves to be the least of Daisy’s worries when murder comes to town. The victim is Reese Masemer, a local gallery owner and the recent ex-boyfriend of Tessa, an artist and employee at Daisy’s Tea Garden. 

The evidence against Tessa begins to mount. The last time she saw Reese, things had certainly been tense, and his body was found near a bridge where she liked to practice sketching. Daisy knows Tessa is innocent and sets out to discover the truth.

Daisy and Aunt Iris couldn’t be more nervous when restaurant critic Derek Schumaker announces his upcoming visit to Daisy’s Tea Garden. His reviews are harsh and can mean disaster for any business. Still, they try to stay confident and plan to put their best culinary foot forward. No one has ever had any complaints about Daisy’s delicious cucumber sandwiches with pimento spread. 

Things seem to be going well when, after tea is served, Derek takes a to-go order. But then the critic drops dead, his food seemingly laced with a deadly poison. As Daisy looks into things, she discovers a threat left on Derek’s blog, and combined with his apparently scandalous past, it seems like she has quite the grocery list of suspects.

Daisy is busy enough as it is planning her daughter’s wedding, but she can’t help but notice that one of her employees is dealing with something. Katrina has been leaving work with large quantities of leftovers every day, and Daisy has heard talk of her spending time in a rougher part of town. Never one to ignore her instincts, Daisy investigates and finds Katrina has been helping a single father in town. Down on his luck, he tries to make ends meet by selling things off at the local antique store. 

Then an employee of the store is found beaten to death with a rolling pin. Katrina’s friend is at the top of the suspect list, though no one can really figure out a motive. It’s up to Daisy to find the real killer before an innocent man suffers.

Daisy lands a lucrative catering gig when Margaret Vaughn hires her to serve tea to her theater group. Everyone knows Margaret’s story. She left town years ago to pursue an acting career and came home with a multimillionaire husband. She certainly lives an elegant life, but Daisy can sense that things are more troubling in her historic farmhouse than meets the eye.

Her suspicions are proved more than correct when she discovers Margaret’s dead body in the middle of the party. It feels like there are suspects everywhere. Could it be one of Margaret’s fellow performers? Or have secrets from her past caught up to her at last?

After the Willow Creek High spring concert, the faculty are unwinding at a friendly get-together with tea and biscuits provided by Daisy. She can’t help but overhear their complaints about the no-nonsense principle Althea Higgins. Her routine rants about school uniforms and substitute teachers have turned both the faculty and students against her. But was someone angry enough to kill?

That’s the question Daisy is forced to ask when she discovers Althea’s body in the school swimming pool, strangled to death. As she investigates, she learns that Althea had lived her whole life making enemies, and anyone could be a suspect. 

Daisy is enjoying her afternoon serving tea at a fundraiser to construct a homeless shelter in Willow Creek. She soon strikes up a conversation with Piper who shares her story of losing her shot at motherhood when a fertility clinic messed up her procedure. Suddenly, the event is rushed by a group of masked protesters who oppose building the shelter. Among them is Eli, who left the Amish community several years ago. 

When Eli left, he was helped by Hiram, a lawyer who is also attending the fundraiser. Piper’s husband is particularly angry to see him since he is currently representing the fertility clinic in a lawsuit. But when Hiram later turns up dead, things get much more serious. 

The latest installment in the Daisy’s Tea Garden Mysteries will be release on May 24—but you can pre-order it now! In search of the perfect gift for her boyfriend Jonas, Daisy winds up at Rumple’s Statuary. The quaint cottage and stone statues remind Daisy of a fairytale. Though shrewd and cold Wilhelm Rumple is far from picture-book perfect.

Rumple wasn’t short on enemies, so when he is found murdered behind the local animal shelter, the list of suspects is long. It seems Rumple had a lot of secrets, and Daisy will have to use all her sleuthing skills to track down this little man’s killer, or all of Willow Creek may have a big problem.
